APPLICATION PROCESS GUIDELINES

A. NEW APPLICANT

Signup: Create an account using a permanent username and password.

Complete the Application Forms: Fill out all required application forms.

Attach Required Documents: Include the following documents with your application:

Photocopy of press card or service card
Passport copy
Passport-sized Phot
Application letter from media house

NOTE:

Payment should be made only after the Rwanda Media Commission (RMC) completes the application review. Once you receive a notification message, you can proceed with the payment.
If you encounter any issues during your application process, please log in and continue until all steps are completed.
The image (Passport photo) dimensions must be 600 x 600 pixels. The file size must be 240 KB or less.

B. Journalist/Renewals:

When your application expires, log in using your username and password to renew it.

A journalist applying for press card renewal who has previously violated the Code of Ethics and failed to comply with corrective guidance issued by the Rwanda Media Commission (RMC) will be required to sign a consent form committing to ethical practices before a renewed press card is issued.
Furthermore, if it is determined that the journalist has content on their social media platforms that violates the Code of Ethics, they must rectify or remove the unethical content as a prerequisite for press card renewal.
Note: Failure to make the necessary changes will result in ineligibility for a professional press card.
