Accreditation of Journalists and Media Organs

According to Article 4 of the Law regulating the media, “the daily functioning of media and the conduct of journalists shall be regulated by the Media Self Regulatory Body”. In interpretation of this article, RMC is charged with accrediting journalists through issuing press cards, as well as registering media organs and issuing them with certificates of registration. By accrediting journalists and registering media organs, RMC is able to create and maintain an important database about the media sector in Rwanda, especially particulars related to individual journalists and media houses.
